No Offence, But…
Jul 25, 2023Hearing the words “No offence, but…” often foretells something offensive on the horizon.
- “No offence, but your last blog was dull.”
- “No offence, but you’ve got terrible taste in music.”
- “No offence, but it looks like you got dressed in the dark this morning.”
Asking someone not to take offence doesn’t grant you immunity from the impact of your words.
To avoid causing offence, communicate your thoughts sincerely and with empathy.
If you can’t do that, best to keep your mouth closed.
