"Everyone Agrees With Me"
Feb 13, 2024A subtle gaslighting phrase meant to make you feel isolated. The implication is you’re wrong because you’re in the minority. That’s pure nonsense.
Truth is not democratic. One person can be right and the entire world can be wrong.
If we bend our opinions to the majority’s view simply because of their weight of numbers, we miss the opportunity to challenge their thinking.
Opposing views we hold force others to think critically about their own beliefs. It encourages people to reassess their opinions in light of alternate ideas. Dissent isn't just healthy, it drives progress.
But it requires confidence to sometimes stand alone, whilst being open to the reason and logic of the majority.
Just don’t be swayed by their sheer numbers.
